Upon arrival meeting
service and then transfer directly to Nuabari - a Lio ethnic’s village built in
a hill with the ancient one sarcophagus scattered in the middle of the village.
It is your chance to be there with the people to have a close contact with
their daily life.
Day 02 NUABARI - JOPU
Spend the morning in
the village, and then drive to Wolowaru for lunch. In the afternoon transfer to
Jopu to stay in the village to have a closer contact with the highland Lio
people. Walk around the village, meet and chat with people and visit their
traditional houses.
Day 03 JOPU - KELIMUTU - RIUNG
It is worth to
experience the sunrise at Kelimutu - the three colored crater lakes. You will
begin your day early in the morning (start at abt 4.00 o’clock). Once you
arrive in Kelimutu you will find yourself something like nowhere, incomparable
with known told stories - photos or even moving pictures you have seen before.
After admiring the
nature wonder drive to ENDE you will pass ravines and villages. There are
chances photo stops, such as at Nduaria Fruit market. Arrive in ENDE drive
directly to Wolotopo - the coastal Lio ethnic’s village beautifully located famished
with shrine and megalithic monuments. Lunch in ENDE. Afternoon drive to Riung.
En route stop at Penggajawa - the blue pebbles beach. Late afternoon arrive in
Riung area and stay at the village.
Day 04
RIUNG
There is Nature Conservation
Park in Riung mainly to
protect the under water ecosystem. Take your chance to explore the small isles
of shore - known for the beautiful coral gardens with white sand beach. There
is an island with unspoiled mangrove forests inhabited by thousands of huge
fruit eating bats. Spend your whole day visiting the small islets and relaxed
at on of the island which has white sand beach. Late afternoon return to Riung.
Day 05
RIUNG - SOA - BAJAWA - GURU SINA
Morning after
breakfast drives to Soa area and visit Masu village with traditional houses and
walk behind the village where Loka are located. Loka is a drinking place built
in hut style outside of the village amongst the bambo and palm forests. Only
men gather in Loka in the evening. Proceed then to Mengeruda hot spring for
lunch. Afternoon drive towards Bajawa with a stop at Naru - a village with
tallest stone monuments in the area. Proceed then to Gurusina - one of the
largest traditional villages in Ngadha ethnic. Overnight at local house in the
village.
Day 06
GURU SINA
Spend the whole day
in the area. There are many villages arround with traditional houses and stone
monuments. It is time to comprehend more the real life of the locals. There is
Bena village which is well-known as one of the better located village yet very
touristic.
Day 07
GURU SINA - RUTENG
Early morning drive
to Ruteng passing the breathtaking panoramic views with soaring volcanoes,
ravines, Crater Lake and cloud forests. Some
stops will be made en route, such as in Aimere where one can have a closer look
into the process of making palm wine distillation. Another stop will be made in
Ranamese lake, then proceed to Ruteng with one or more stop at Mano area with
its terraced rice fields. Lunch in Ruteng. Afternoon visit villages nearby.
Overnight in Hotel.
Day 08
RUTENG - TODE - WAE REBO
Ruteng is a small
town in the backbone of Flores and neighbour to the Ruteng Nature
Conservation Park
- the home of Ngkiong - the endemic of singing birds. It is worth to visit park
early in the morning to attend the nature’s concert of singing birds (if no
rain and strong wind). There is also a newly popped up volcano in the park.
Take you chance to have a closer look into it. En route to Todo stop at Cara Village
in Cancar area to see the unexposed world wonder - the Lingko - the spider web
shaped rice fields. It is probably the only such a rice field ever exists on
earth. Lunch in Todo a village used to be center of Todo Kingdom.
Afternoon proceed to Wae Rebo and overnight in the village.
Day 09
TODO - LABUAN BAJO - RINCA
It is time say goodbye,
drive then to Labuan Bajo with stops en route for picturesque views and
stretching legs. Lunch in Labuan Bajo.
Afternoon set sail to Rinca. Upon arrival take a trek inland to trace the
dragons in it natural habitat. Return then to boat to take a night sail to
Komodo. Anchor the boat on a calm bay next to Komodo village.
Day 10
RINCA - KOMODO - LABUAN BAJO
Early morning sail
to Komodo village, take a visit co comprehend the life of this native Komodo
people. Proceed then to Lho Liang to take another chance to trace the dragons
on the island. On return sail to Pantai Merah - a rather pink colored beach for
swimming and snorkeling. Afternoon return to Labuan Bajo.
Day 11
LABUAN BAJO - NEXT DESTINATION
