FKW 106 KOMODO FLORES WONDER (Start Labuan Bajo) 6 Days / 5 Nights




Day 01 DENPASAR - LABUAN BAJO - RINCA
Upon arrival transfer to harbor to catch a boat cross to Rinca Island. It takes about 3 hours to reach the Island. If time permits take the chance to trace the dragons on the island. Dinner and overnight on board or at Ranger’s house.

Day 02 RINCA - LABUAN BAJO - RUTENG
Early breakfast on board then start trekking to trace the Komodo dragon, along the path there are possibilities to encounter wild animals and various species of tropical birds. There are wild buffalo, deer and boar on the island.  Return to boat and sail back to Labuan Bajo. Lunch will be provided on board. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo drive directly to Ruteng. En route visit Cara village where Lingko - the spider web shaped rice field are located. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 03 RUTENG - BAJAWA
Ruteng is a small town in the backbone of Flores and neighbor to the Ruteng Nature Conservation Park - the home of Ngkiong - the endemic singing birds. It is worth to visit the Park early in the morning to attend the nature’s concert of singing birds (if no rain and strong wind). There is also a newly popped up volcano in the park. Take your chance to have a closer look into it. Continue afterwards to Bajawa with beautiful panoramic views. Take your chance for photo stops. The first stop will be at Ranamese - a crater lake with cloud forest. Lunch in Bajawa. Afternoon visit Naru village with huge megalithic monuments and Wogo one of the big traditional village of Ngadha ethnic. Overnight at Wisma Kembang of similar.

Day 04 BAJAWA - ENDE
Visit the morning market of Bajawa then visit Ngada village in Lange and Bena which are beautifully located at the slope of volcanoes. Drive then to Boawae - a village belongs to Nagekeo ethnic which is guarded by an ever smoking  volcano of Ebulobo. Proceed afterwards to Ende with another stop at Penggajawa beach - where people collecting blue pebbles for inter insular trading. Upon arrival in Ende visit the Exile House of Mr. Sukarno - the world famous Indonesian Founding Father. Lunch in Ende. Afternoon visit Wolotopo, a typical coastal settlement of Lio ethnic with animistic shrine and Ikat weaving. Drive then towards Nuabosi until reach the vantage point to enjoy and aerial view of Ende town which is fortified with volcanoes and beautifully located in the south coast of Flores.

Day 05 ENDE - KELIMUTU - MAUMERE
It is worth to experience the sunrise at Kelimutu - the tree colored crater lakes (start at about 4.00 o‘clock). Once   arrive in Kelimutu one will find something like nowhere, incomparable with known told stories - photos or even moving pictures have seen before. Drive then down hill and visit some villages (Koanara and Ranggase with traditional houses) to comprehend the Lio ethnic’s daily life and to understand their work of civilization. Such as the typical Lio House, some of them are decorated with breast figure as to symbolize the fertility and prosperity. The Lio people also well known for the Ikat weaving - the tie-dyeing weaving technique. Lunch en route. Afternoon return to Maumere.
       
Day 06 MAUMERE - NEXT DESTINATION
Morning free program until the time to transfer to the airport.
