Agust Bataona ( Agust ) I
studied in Yunior and senior mission school of Catholic Seminary at Hokeng
Larantuka Flores ,and continued in Major Catholic Seminary at Ledalero Maumere
Flores, but I decided not to be a Catholic priest. However, I have to say,
thanks a lot of everything that I have gotten, because those special schools
made me to be a man who really love to the Nature, Animal, and Human being.
Since 1987 until 1988 I was a teacher at Senior High School for Catholic
Religion and German subjects. In the same time in October 1988, a friend of
mine introduced and invited me to joined in the General Guide Course. I really
fall in love with this new profession. I prefered to be a man who worked in
smokeless industry or green tourism.
So since 1988 until 1990, I worked at Sao
Wisata seaside Resort Waiara Maumere as Tour Operations and Tourguide. But
since 1990 until 1998 I worked for one
of biggest Tour Agent in Indonesia
( P.T.Grand Komodo Tours ) in Bima NTB
Indonesia as Tourguide, and Maumere as Tourguide and as Representative of P.T.Grand
Komodo Tour’s branch office in Flores NTT Indonesia. When Indonesia had a
complicated problem from 1997 until 1998, there was economic, social and
political crisis, it was really unstable condition for tourism,
at that time I lost my job.
Since 2001 until 2005, I
joined in a Marine Project ( COREMAP= Coral Reef Rehabilitation And Management
Program), it was funded by Ausaid and World Bank. During this project, I got my
Scubadiver licence from PADI and CMAS. After I passed some examinations from
LIPI ( Indonesian Institute of Science), and AIMS ( Australian Institute of
Marine Science ) coralreef research standart, I and some friends could work
together with the Coralreef researchers as
assistants to them. Those experiences both in land and underwater
activities made me more comprehensive and wisely respect to the Nature, Animal,
Human being, and The Supreme Human being as The Creator.
Since 2005 until 2012,
I really enjoy but persistent always to work with my heart as a Freelance
Guide. I dont care, and I dont mind which Tour agent ask for me to organize a
small or big group to any destination in the Lesser Sunda Islands, whatever and
however I always try to do my best as far as I can.
I always keeping in my mind,” I am the
Ambassador of Indonesia Tourism, I am the Frontliner of Indonesia Tourism”. I
have been handling so many small and big groups through the Lesser Sunda
Islands. Most of them, They came from Germany.
In the beginning of this year 2013, I and some
friends decided to worked together in one collaborative management. One of our activities
is as a Tour Agent. We are selling some ecotourpackages. As our commitment that
some money from our bussiness’ profit will be contributed or donated to the
orphan, disable children, and ecofriendly activities for the children and
teenagers at their schools.
I still remember someone said that never give up on something you really
want, it is difficult to wait but it is more difficult to regret, and never
look down on someone, unless you are helping them up.
